admanGo has collected and analyzed the adspend related to the Olympics in local advertisements and compiled a report covering the adspend for the 2012 London Olympics, the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The data indicated that adspend for the 2012 London Olympics was the highest of the past three Olympic Games, reaching 76 million. Advertising related to the London and Rio Olympics was predominantly placed on TV and Print, whereas starting from the Tokyo Olympics, there has been a shift towards Social Media. The report also included information on the market share of various media and categories, as well as data on the highest-spending advertisers.
