In 2024, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) accounted for 15% of all media usage, ranking fourth behind Desktop/Mobile, Social Media, and Television. Notably, text ads represented 87% of all SEM, with shopping ads making up the remainder. The top five categories by ad spend in SEM include Travel, Banking, Computers, Retail, and Insurance.
