According to admanGo, Hong Kong’s total adspend reached HK$8.77 billion in the second quarter of 2026, representing a 5% YOY increase and reflecting the continued steady expansion of the local advertising market. Supported by a recovery in domestic consumer sentiment and sustained growth in visitor arrivals, Hong Kong’s advertising market maintained its upward momentum throughout 2026. Despite heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East driving up energy prices and creating uncertainty over the global economic outlook, local adspend remained resilient. Advertising spending increased by 5% YOYin April and 2% in May, while June recorded a notable 9% YOY increase driven by the FIFA World Cup. The strong performance indicates that advertisers did not scale back their marketing investments in response to external economic uncertainties. Instead, they actively capitalised on the marketing opportunities presented by this major global sporting event. Furthermore, the seven largest advertising sectors all recorded YOY growth in adspend during the second quarter, underscoring continued business confidence and a positive outlook across key industries, with advertisers leveraging media investment to support business growth.
